Summer BBQ

Our Summer BBQ is a great occasion when the whole school community comes together at the end of the school year, to share delicious food prepared by our school kitchen and served by school staff, socialize and have a dance. It is always a really well attended and everyone comments on the lovely atmosphere.

Each year COGS (the parent teacher association at Gayhurst) also organises and runs a number of events to bring the community of the school together and to raise money for the school. These include:

Winter Fair

Christmas comes early at Gayhurst when each December before the end of term the school hosts its Winter Fair. Santa’s grotto magically appears and the man himself, along with his elf helpers, is on hand to receive visits from the excited Gayhurst children. With stalls aplenty selling a diverse range of toys, books, arts and crafts there is the opportunity to pick up a present or two. Seasonal games stalls and a bouncy castle provide entertainment for all ages and there is always a range of warming food and drinks to keep the winter chill at bay.

Summer Fair

Each year the school playground is strung with colourful bunting for the annual Summer Fair. Dozens of stalls selling all manner of things and hosting a variety of games and activities abound, from the traditional coconut shy and hook a duck to the ever-popular Lego building. The fire brigade often pay a visit and children can take a tour of the engine to find out what it is like to be a fire-fighter. There are always tasty summer treats to whet the appetite and a big bouncy castle to jump around on.
