Parent Workshops & Engagement
Parental involvement is welcomed and valued at Kingsmead and is crucial to enriching the experience of the children at our school. We both support our families and involve them in school life in many ways, some of which are listed below:
Parent Workshops
Parent workshops play an important role in enhancing children's education by offering parents and carers invaluable insights and tools for effective collaboration with school. Every term, we provide a number of parent workshops focused on various different topics from Mental Health & Wellbeing to learning how best to support your child with reading at home. All our workshops are planned in advance and will be listed in the key dates section of the school newsletter as well as in the School Calendar, which can be found in the Our News section of this website.

Annual School Community Events
Every year at Gayhurst, the school community has the opportunity to come together at several vibrant and enjoyable events:
Summer BBQ
Our Summer BBQ is a great occasion when the whole school community comes together at the end of the school year, to share delicious food prepared by our school kitchen and served by school staff, socialize and have a dance. It is always a really well attended and everyone comments on the lovely atmosphere.
International Evening
A highlight of the Gayhurst school calendar, International Evening is a really special event, where the whole school community comes together to celebrate our diversity. With great entertainment involving music and dance, families bring wonderful dishes of food cooked for all to share, with many wearing clothes linked to their family heritage for a wonderful celebration of the range of cultures and heritage of our community.
Winter and Summer Fairs
CoGS, the Community of Gayhurst School, organise an annual Winter Fair and Summer Fair raising funds for the school. You can find out more about CoGS on the link below:
