25 Gayhurst pupils went to Parliament on Tuesday to meet MPs and tell them to take action on air pollution. They met 16 MPs including Meg Hillier, 6 members of the shadow cabinet and members of important select committees that write policy papers on environment, science, technology and air pollution that get turned into law.
The children delivered their message loudly and clearly by singing the Clean Air song written by parent Vanessa Sylvester who is half of music duo Navan. Hackney and Shoreditch MP Meg Hillier spoke to the children and told them: 'You are very important because 1 in 4 people in Hackney are under 16 and you are speaking for this huge number of people. Don't stop campaigning after this event. You must go to the London Mayor next and sing your song to him.'
